Workwear Group are thrilled to announce that we were recognised by Westpac for our commitment to sustainability and our dedication to customer relationships. The hard work and enthusiasm of our team has been acknowledged by Westpac at their Awards, held in November 2023, where we proudly took home the Sustainable Supplier Award. This achievement is a testament to our ongoing efforts to have a positive impact on the environment as we continue on our sustainability journey.
Senior Account Manager, Michele McLoughlin, had the honour of representing Workwear Group Uniforms at the Westpac Awards ceremony, where she graciously accepted the award on behalf of the team. Michele’s ongoing support of and work with Westpac has been invaluable to the relationship between our two companies and actively demonstrates the support which is our standard for working with all our customers.
Advancements in Sustainability at Workwear Group
This recognition is a reflection of the strides we’ve made in recent times to progress our sustainability efforts. Some of our key sustainability outcomes over 2023 have included:
- Transitioning selected garments to be made from recycled PET bottles;
- Transitioning selected packaging of uniforms to 100% recyclable polybags;
- Transitioning woven tags and labels to recycled PET yarn and FSC recycled carboard, printed with soy ink; and
- Facilitating the recycling of Westpac and other branded uniforms with Upparel, who turn textile waste into new materials with a variety of uses and applications.
We would also like to acknowledge Aldridge Hadebe, a valued Workwear Group Uniforms Account Manager, for his exceptional work with Westpac. Al has played a pivotal role in fostering strong partnerships and driving sustainable practices within our collaboration with Westpac. His dedication and commitment to our shared values have contributed to receiving this award.
The Sustainable Supplier Award is not just a win for Workwear Group, but also for the planet. We remain committed to our sustainability progress and this recognition only strengthens our mission.
